The main project of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge has passed the completion acceptance organized by the Ministry of Transport, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Hong Kong Macao Office of the State Council. The completion acceptance committee believes that the main project of the bridge has set multiple world records, with excellent engineering quality and comprehensive evaluation levels.
The Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge was opened for operation on October 24, 2018, with a total length of 55 kilometers. It integrates bridges, islands, and tunnels, connecting Hong Kong's Lantau Island, Macau Peninsula, and Zhuhai City in Guangdong Province. The travel time from Zhuhai to Hong Kong has been reduced from 3 and a half hours.
The predecessor of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge was the originally planned Lingdingyang Bridge, which began construction on December 15, 2009 and officially opened on October 23, 2018. The design service life of the bridge is 120 years, and the seismic fortification intensity is increased to 9 degrees, which can withstand the 16 magnitude typhoon, 300000 ton impact and the 300 year flood tide at the the Pearl River Estuary.
Sunzo Foundation Engineering Co., Ltd. participated in the foundation treatment project of the bridge island tunnel project of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge. The bridge island tunnel project is the control project of the entire Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge, mainly requiring 52477 drainage boards to be installed in the western artificial island, with a large quantity and high construction difficulty. Since the beginning of the operation of the first plug-in machine in the project department, a cross construction method has been adopted, with a total of 5 equipment invested, achieving the highest record of 900 drainage boards per day and 3396 drainage boards per day for a single equipment. The entire construction line of plastic drainage boards on Xirengong Island has been completed, and the drainage board construction task has been completed ahead of schedule to buy time for the project and receive unanimous recognition from the media and industry.
