Water-Based PVD Plastic Drainage Boards are primarily used to treat soft foundations with high water content and low bearing capacity, such as silt clay, hydraulic fill, and other weak soils (e.g., underwater areas, tidal flats, marshes). By vertically inserting these boards into soft soil foundations, they form drainage channels to accelerate soil consolidation and drainage.
Specialized installation vessels or platforms equipped with static-pressure or vibratory insertion machines and GPS positioning systems are employed for precise placement of the drainage boards.
These solutions are applied in projects such as offshore reclamation, port and harbor construction, cross-sea bridges, and underwater soft soil foundations, enabling direct reinforcement of soft soils in aquatic or shallow-water environments (e.g., intertidal zones).
